Photography Essay Notes

Admittedly, I didn't immediately latch onto the photography unit. Growing up, my grandfather was an excellent and fairly well-known nature photographer. Being in close proximity to something like that sort of desensitizes you to it, making it seem ordinary and commonplace. What I got from the photography unit was how to see photographs in everyday images, in the sense that I could look at something and see what was important in it. I wrote this essay as a reflection based on my true discovery of photography as an art form, and how I've truly seen what it really does, rather than just being a framed picture on my grandmother's wall.
